Love Under
Love Under is a multidisciplinary choreographic piece exploring mental health and acts of community care. Through a dialogue between krump and Afro-descendant music (Gospel, Hip-Hop, Jazz), this project highlights the issues of psychological well-being and identity challenges faced by black men.
Conceived by Mamu Tshi (Amandine Ngindu), and inspired by the imagination of Spike Lee (Mo' Better Blues, She's gotta have it), this show aims to create a space for dialogue and liberation, where artistic expression becomes a catalyst for overcoming internal tensions, managing stress, and deconstructing harmful stereotypes. The aim is both introspective and collective: to raise awareness of the impact of racism and trauma, while offering tools to strengthen psychological resilience.
Love Under Pressure tells the story of two characters who, in the face of social and identity pressures, use dance and African-American music to externalize their buried emotions. Inspired by the emotional charge of krump and Afro-descendant musical genres, the show navigates between vulnerability and resilience, transforming psychic wounds into creative strength.
